Taluk in Shimoga district of Karnataka .It is a small
sanctuary only 0.74 sq Km in area. The sleepy village
of Sorab Taluk reverberates with the sweet chirping
of the birds in the month of June. The picturesque Gudvi
Lake with trees all along its banks is a beautiful sight
in itself. It is a small seasonal lake and is filled
with water mostly in the rainy season. All round the
lake you will find moist deciduous forest,of which many
of the trees have been cut down. Come the month of June
the branches of the trees in the Gudvi Bird sanctuary
are painted with different hues as birds of colorful
plumages descend on their branches.
