The Church of St. Francis of Assisi is a stunning building built during 1517-1521 AD. Before this church there was another church on the site which was sanctified to the Holy Ghost built in 1521. It was later destroyed.
And then the present church was built in its place in 1661. When The Church of St. Francis of Assisi was built in 1661 in place of the earlier church, everything related to old church was modified excepting the foyer.
In 1964, the Archaeological Survey of India renewed this church into a museum.

Going hand in hand with myriad colours, making the interior of the entire church look like a gargantuan painting resting over inscribed tombstones paving the floor. The church has one gilded main altar and eight side altars of which only three remains today.
